A growing and successful Automotive Supplier in the Adrian, Michigan area is in need of a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician. PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Build and Install mechanical and Robotic components of production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.
Ability to read and layout machine footprints from a CAD drawing to accurately install equipment.
Ability to perform advanced mechanical installs and repairs during machine build.
Advanced knowledge in pneumatics with the ability to plumb machines to the designed controls print.
Basic electrical knowledge of high and low voltage systems.
Able to operate standard welding units: mig, tig and oxy/acetylene torch.
Installs fencing and other guarding to the designed specifications and company safety standards.
Ability to run custom pipes on machines, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe, including black pipe and copper lines.
Starts machines and equipment to test operation following machine build.
Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
Basic ability to modify computer controlled motion of robot.
Assists Engineer to modify sketches or computer generated designs of machine components such as pneumatic system and machine floor layouts.
Punctual and regular attendance is required.
Able and willing to work any shift assigned as well as some travel.
Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
Participates in continuous improvement activities
Responsible for reading and understanding the TS16949 and ISO-14001 procedures
Ability to troubleshoot equipment/machinery
Ability to read blue prints and be a problem solver.
Good multitasking skills and a high level of cooperation and commitment
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associate s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Journeyman Certificate preferred.
