Job Description Individuals strongly fit for this role will have significant experience in design, deployment and maintenance of AWS implementations and all related Amazon services. The individual will also present a significant background in Linux administration in either a Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS environment, familiar with all common tasks involved in daily platform management. Role and Responsibilities Work directly with the various roles within the DBaaS team to help define and deliver highly available, fault-tolerant solutions leveraging existing Amazon technology and companies designed architectures in a repeatable manner.Know and implement the proper AWS services needed to deliver based on compute, data, sizing and security requirements Have a high competency in integrating multiple AWS instances using Amazon and industry best practices as it relates to the solution, including VPC s, VPN s, Elastic IP allocation and consumption. Properly estimate AWS usage costs and savings efficiencies. Identify opportunities for automation leveraging tools such as Saltstack, Ansible Tower, or Puppet Bolt for:Instance Deployment Instance Maintenance
Design, implement and maintain automation solutions as identified
24x7 availability for service restoration, as managed across multiple resources via an on-call schedule
Basic Qualifications 3+ years of experience in complex Amazon AWS solutions 2+ years of experience in automation design and deployment in an AWS environment 5+ years of experience in Linux administration Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or applicable disciplines, or equivalent work experience Ability to travel 10% or as needed
Preferred Qualifications Advanced experience in one or more of the following areas: Solutions Design, Solutions Administration, SDLC integration, Infrastructure Design Significant fluency in two or more of the following: Java, Python, AWS CloudWatch API usage, Ruby, shell scripting Experience in a 24x7 services and/or support environment.
