Role Summary:The Lead Evaluation Engineer (Engine Assembly, Implementation and Test) participates in and directs a cross-functional team collaborating to execute on engine mission goals. In this role you will utilize your experience in project management and technical knowledge to develop and execute engine program plans in accordance with GE Aviation policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:The purpose is to deliver engineering data from test articles to support engine certification and qualification activities and technology initiatives.
Execute assembly, instrumentation and testing tasks on assigned engine program missions.
Develop detailed engine instrumentation, assembly and test schedules with input from the engineering and project teams.
Provide timely communications on project status, needs and significant issues or developments.
Coordinate with engine assembly, instrumentation, materials, design engineering and test to execute on assigned program schedules.
Participate and/or lead teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
Coordinate with design engineering, configuration control, assembly and quality to ensure engines are assembled according to current, documented engineering definition.
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Provide project cost forecasting and track actual spend on assigned engine projects.
Participate as a presenter in technical, program and tollgate reviews.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position
Project Management experience
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
Effective problem identification and solution skills.
