Role Summary:The Dynamics & Vibrations Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. You will develop and analyze dynamics models to influence new engine designs and support legacy designs. You will support full engine tests and rig tests to validate designs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and analyze 2D and 3D engine dynamics models to support the design and development of aircraft engines

  • Influence designs with optimal natural frequency placement for rotating and static engine components while maintaining acceptable engine loads

  • Generate engine loads and provide to design groups along with guidance for loads interpretation

  • Support and enhance the development of 2D and 3D analytical dynamics tools and the engine vibration testing process

  • Direct and monitor vibration testing of aircraft engines / rigs

  • Define instrumentation, post-process & summarize test results, and correlate dynamics models to test data

  • Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements

  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated

  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue

  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition, and data processing

  • Familiarity with NASTRAN, Hypermesh, Matlab, UG NX

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong problem solving skills
