May be required to work afternoons or evenings.Responsibilities* 50% - Possesses specialized theoretical understanding and practical experience in Histo-Pathology to include tissue processing, embedding, micro sectioning of frozen blocks special and IHC stains.* 20% - Analyzes, resolves, and trouble-shoots day-to-day histology tasks as needed.* 10% - Maintains statistical records and other related records pertaining to the laboratory. Assists in the training of new hire and other supporting staff.* 10% - Performs routine and automated H&E.* 5% - Prepares various chemical solutions and reagents.* 5% - Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications* Master's Degree & New York State Dept of Education Clinical Lab Technician/Technologist license or Histology Technician license plus 3 years of related experience. Or* BA/BS and New York State Dept. of Education Clinical Lab Technician/Technologist or Histology Technician license plus 6 years of related experience.
